Andy has a lifetime of experience climbing and walking in the mountains of six continents, with an extensive knowledge of the British hills, including two rounds of the Munros, the Corbetts and all the English and Welsh 2000ers.
He has an infectious passion and energy for seeking out remote areas, new adventures, rare journeys, wild camps and a desire to pass on the skills and inspire others.
He brings a wide awareness of the mountain environment and, as a professional geologist, a depth of understanding of the landscape to share as part of the mountain day.
Now based between Glasgow and the hills, he is available to lead adventures throughout the British mountains and abroad.
He is qualified with the Mountain Leader Award and Winter Mountain Leader Award and is a member of the Mountain Training Association.

Andy is a professional geologist and has fulfilled commissions ranging from landslides at Macchupicchu and at home in Scotland, to the geological effects of climate change in the high Himalaya. He is available to support specialist geological field excursions or can put together tailored journeys such as ‘Discovering the Moine Thrust’, ‘The Mull Caldera’ or ‘Isle of Rum Geology’.
